About

Welcome to Baker’s Theory! My name is Alex and I love to cook and bake. I have attempted to organize my on-going cooking pursuits here with you. I’ve never done a blog before, so bear with me as I work my way through the kinks with my best friend, Jim, who is my photographer, videographer and husband.

My love of all things food began with my Easy-Bake Oven. Blueberry muffins and brownies. Later I moved on to assembling Eggo Waffles with butter, slices of turkey, and provolone. Then it was Minute Rice with Campbell’s Cream of Chicken soup. By the time I was 13, inspired by Rachel Ray’s 30 Minute Meals and a Hershey’s Chocolate cookbook my grandmother gifted me, I commanded the stove unsupervised. Then I exploded a stick of butter in the microwave, back when butter was wrapped in aluminum foil.

I’ve come a long way since then, thankfully! With 17 solid years of cooking and baking experience, a degree in chemical engineering, and a career in food processing, I’d like to share some things and theories I’ve learned through my kitchen trials. Here at Baker’s Theory I hope you will find instruction, inspiration, practical tips, and simplicity.

Wishing you cold milk and warm cookies!

Alex
